KRABI – THAILAND

Krabi was our last stop during Thai adventure. We could feel hardship of our travel and didn’t take full advantage of Krabi surroundings. You can’t always just chase another place and tick another box of your list and we needed rest. We’re giving you few nice places down below but there is much more be discovered.

Within the means of transportation we recommend scooter like in any other place in Thailand. Map in smartphone and road signs were enough to travel around hassle free. This time we rented thru our hotel (Krabi Tipa Resort, which we reccomend!) to be sure there is no challenges during last few days.

Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple) – Krabi

History of creation of the temple isn’t clear. Story says monk Jumnean Seelasettho was meditating in the temple and saw a tiger or the other which says tiger actually lived and roamed around the cave. Cave is located at the foot of mountain and what’s actually the most impressive is located on the top. There is 1237 steps leading to the top but you shouldn’t get discouraged, stock up with water and hit the climb! There is huge golden Buddha statue and jaw dropping views – most spectacular at sunset.

Emerald Pool (Sra-Morakot) – Krabi

Little pond with crystal clear emerald water surrounded by jungle. It’s really popular with locals  so need to prepare for crowds. You can take two paths to reach the pond, shorter or longer which goes by wooden track showing biodiversity of the jungle. You can take a dip in the pond ad geothermal water is really warm. Entrance fee is 200 BHT per person.

Blue pool – Krabi

Pool is locate behind emerald pool and you can get there by wooden path. Unfortunately, during our visit blue pool was closed due to mating season of birds.

Ao Nang and Railey beach – Krabi

Two beautiful beaches  located near each other with soft sand and great views. Ao Nang is longer located along boardwalk, considered by many to be the most beautiful in Krabi. Staying in Ao Nang we had opportunity to watch the most beautiful sunset ever. You can reach Railey both by road and directly by boat. Although not as long as Ao Nang is as beautiful . In our opinion both are worth few hours visit.

Hot Springs – Krabi

We came across hot springs located nearby Emerald pool by accident. Spontaneously we followed the sign and we found place you wouldn’t expect to find in exotic Thailand. Whole place is extraordinary and picture square crowded with locals (in October we haven’t seen many tourists) .

Phi Phi Islands – Krabi

We visited Phi Phi on the way from Phuket to Krabi and stayed overnight. If you don’t have a lot of time you can visit for few hours. Ferries leaves Krabi Town twice a day and it takes 1.5 – 2 hours. In such a short time you won’t be able to see everything  but definitely can check one of our recommended places here.

4 Island tour – Krabi

We were planning to go on our last day but were completely wrecked. If you have some power left you can check local travel agencies (plenty in Ao Nang) or pay directly to speed boat captain and agree itinerary.  Island included are Chicken, Tup, Poda and Phranang Railay). Islands are heavenly and you won’t regret.
